From our community consultation hui held up at Otiria Marae on the 24 May 2017, it became apparent to those that attended that
there is still much hurt within our community over the ministry intervention of 2012 – 2014 within our school.
We wish to inform you that we are in the process of planning a Hohou Te Rongo Hui, scheduled for during the day of 21 July 2017, to be held here at Moerewa School.
This Hui will be a joint effort of the Moerewa Community and Moerewa School to assist with the bringing together of all parties to heal the mamae caused at that time.
The Hui deliberations will be on the following themes:

- Whanau- effected whanau members
- Staff- staff view
Experience the impact
- Community member speaker
- Pou Herenga Tangata and other learning environments within Moerewa.

It is our goal for this hui that we bring peace and closure to this difficult time for our school and allow it to provide for us a springboard moving forward as a school, as a community.
As this meeting is happening on the Friday of the second week of the holidays, further notices will go out, along with us trying to use as many on-line resources at our disposal (such as facebook and the like). Please put it on your calendars now and join us for what will be a very important day for our school and our community.
